PSM Managing Director Zeena Zahir tenders resignation
Public Service Media (PSM) Managing Director Zeena Zahir has resigned from her position, according to information received to Voice from a senior source within the company.
While Zeena has yet to publicly disclose the reason for her resignation, she has faced significant challenges during her tenure, particularly dealing with the company's financial difficulties.
Appointed as PSM’s Managing Director in November last year, Zeena made history as the first woman to hold the role.
However, her leadership was marked by struggles to address the organization’s substantial debt, with PSM owing over MVR 260 million to various creditors.
This financial strain has led to lawsuits against the company, and there have even been incidents where individuals entered PSM’s premises to confront and threaten her.
The matter has been reported to the police.
Before her role at PSM, Zeena served as a member of the Broadcasting Commission and holds a Master’s degree in Business Administration.
She began her career in journalism in 2006.
