Talented para-athletes Abdul Razzaq Abdul Samad and Fathimath Ibrahim (Faathun) will represent the Maldives at the upcoming Paralympics 2024 held in Paris, France.

Scheduled to take place from August 28th to September 8th, the games will showcase their talents on an international stage.

Para-athelete from Maldives Paralympic Committee, Faathun and Razzaq is set to compete based on their splendid current rankings.

Both athletes achieved impressive bronze medals at the Indian Ocean Island Games in Madagascar last year, competing in the 100m event, T11-T13 class.

Faathun previously competed in the Tokyo 2020 Paralympics (held in 2021 due to COVID-19), which marked the Maldives' first appearance in the event.

Razzaq, who started his athletic career in 2022, will make his global debut at this year's Paralympics.

Since the formation of Special Olympics Maldives five years ago, opportunities for para-athletes have grown, resulting in greater participation and the development of emerging talent across a range of sports.
