The Maldives Police Service (MPS) has initiated an investigation into allegations that a nurse employed at Indira Gandhi Memorial Hospital (IGMH) was involved in drug use.

According to information given to Voice from MPS, the report concerning the nurse was received two weeks ago, prompting an official inquiry.

Sources indicate that the issue gained attention when the nurse, allegedly under the influence of drugs, reported for duty, prompting the hospital to file a complaint. 

No arrests have been made at this time and investigation is ongoing.
