Maldives-India historic relation will be further strengthened : President Dr. Muizzu
President Dr. Mohammed Muizzu extended his congratulations and best wishes to President Droupadi Murmu and Prime Minister Narendra Modi on the occasion of India’s Independence Day.
India is celebrating its 78th Independence Day today with great pride.
President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu sent his Independence Day greetings to both the President and Prime Minister of India in separate messages.
In his message, the President highlighted the ongoing friendship, mutual respect, and strong ties between the two countries.
The President conveyed his wishes for peace, prosperity, and continued success for the people of India in the years ahead.
In a post on ‘X’, the President emphasized the long-standing friendship between the two nations and the positive developments and progress it has brought to the Maldives.
On the occasion of India's Independence Day, I extend heartfelt congratulations to President Droupadi Murmu , Prime Minister Narendra Modi, and the people of India. Our enduring friendship, rooted in history, has evolved to foster prosperity and development in the Maldives and the region. As we look to the future, I am confident that our partnership will continue to strengthen, driving mutual prosperity and shared goals.

He also expressed confidence that the friendly relations between the two countries would continue to grow stronger in the future.
Last Friday, Indian External Affairs Minister Dr. S. Jaishankar concluded a three-day official visit, during which discussions focused on further enhancing the friendly relations between the two countries.
