Maldives-Pakistan relations to strengthen further: Pakistan Ambassador
Pakistan's Ambassador to the Maldives, Vice Admiral (Retd.) Muhammad Fayyaz Gilani, expressed confidence that the long-standing and robust relations between Pakistan and the Maldives would continue to flourish in the coming years.
During a flag-raising ceremony held at the Pakistan Embassy this morning, marking the 78th Independence Day of Pakistan, Ambassador Gilani extended his heartfelt wishes for the Maldives' ongoing progress and development.
He reaffirmed Pakistan's commitment to strengthening bilateral ties with the island nation.
In his remarks, the Ambassador also offered his condolences to the residents of Male’ and other affected islands following recent floods and damage to property, expressing solidarity with those impacted by the adverse weather conditions.
Additionally, Ambassador Gilani took the opportunity to recall the struggles of the people in Jammu and Kashmir under Indian administration, as well as the ongoing situation in Palestine, underscoring Pakistan's unwavering support for these communities.
Pakistan's Independence Day commemorates the nation's establishment as an independent state in 1947, following the partition of British India.
This pivotal event marked the creation of Pakistan as a separate Muslim-majority nation alongside India.
