A tragic incident occurred this evening in Male’, as a woman fell from a building in the Maafannu area near Maldives Ports Limited (MPL), M.Hasowa.

Police received a report about the fall, with eyewitnesses stating that the woman landed on a pickup truck parked below after falling from the high-rise building.

Immediately following the fall, a group of residents quickly transported the injured woman to the hospital using the pickup truck.

Unfortunately, information from Maldives Police suggest that she has since passed away.

The police have not yet provided further details regarding the incident but have confirmed that an investigation is currently underway and requested the public to not share pictures of the dead and to respect the family when they are grieving.
