The Maldives Association of Travel Agents and Tour Operators (MATATO) is set to host the first-ever Maldives Travel Conference 2024 – Women’s Edition on August 19 at Hotel Jen Malé.

This pioneering event, designed to celebrate and uplift women in the tourism industry, has garnered significant support from the Ministry of Tourism (MOT) and leading women’s organizations.

In a recent meeting, MATATO representatives held discussions with Deputy Minister Ms. Aishath Shimani and Minister of State Dr. Abdulla Niyaz, solidifying a crucial partnership with the Ministry of Tourism.

This collaboration emphasizes a mutual dedication to enhancing women's participation and leadership in the Maldivian tourism sector.

Additionally, the conference has received endorsements from notable women’s associations, including Women in Management (WIM), Women on Boards (WOB), and the Women Entrepreneurs Association – Maldives (WEAM).

These endorsements reflect a broad acknowledgment of the need to address the specific challenges and opportunities that women in tourism face.

The Maldives Travel Conference 2024 – Women’s Edition will gather industry leaders, policymakers, and influential women from across the tourism sector.
