MDP President Shahid condemns defamation video targeting Minister Shaheem
Maldivian Democratic Party (MDP) President Shahid has strongly condemned a video aimed at defaming Dr. Mohammed Shaheem, the Minister of Islamic Affairs.
Shahid’s remarks come in response to defamatory content posted by an anonymous social media account named Hassan Kurusee.
The account recently shared a video questioning Dr. Shaheem’s PhD credentials and making obscene accusations.
Shahid criticized the video,
Everyone has human dignity. Everyone has a family, parents, husbands, wives and children. It is not for a civilized person to create and spread untruthful stories to shape the reputation and dignity of others. It is uncivilized to create an unfounded video to defame Dr. Mohammed Shaheem Ali Saeed.
he wrote
He urged everyone to denounce such acts,
We must have the courage to condemn these evil acts and not remain silent when some people destroy the fabric of society for their own benefit.
he added
Shahid’s comments underscore the need for vigilance against efforts to undermine individuals through false accusations and stress the importance of maintaining societal integrity.
