The raid was part of a broader initiative by Maldives Immigration to identify and address illegal expatriate activities.

The operation followed a tip-off received through 'Immigration Watch', a platform for reporting undocumented individuals.

According to pictures released by immigration, the food preparation area was found in unsanitary conditions and the premises lacked proper cleanliness and organization.

Over the past seven months, Maldives Immigration has deported over 2000 undocumented expatriates.

The agency has announced that individuals detained under such conditions will not be allowed to enter the legal framework in the future.

Authorities have recently stepped up their efforts against undocumented expatriates involved in illegal activities, including operating small businesses, running market stalls, and working in spas used as fronts for prostitution.
