Maldives hosts 'Youm-e-Istehsal' event to spotlight Kashmir's plight

The Pakistan High Commission in Maldives observed Youm-e-Istehsal, or the Day of Exploitation, on Monday, to express solidarity with the people of Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu & Kashmir (IIOJK).

The event aimed to draw international attention to the actions taken by India on August 5, 2019, in the region.

The event began with a recitation from the Holy Quran and was attended by Pakistani and Maldivian participants.

During his address, H.E. Vice Admiral (R) Muhammad Fayyaz Gilani, the High Commissioner of Pakistan, highlighted the significance of the day and condemned the actions of the Indian occupying forces in IIOJK.

He paid tribute to the sacrifices made by Kashmiris in their struggle against oppression.

High Commissioner Gilani called upon the international community to urge India to cease human rights violations in IIOJK, reverse its unilateral actions of August 5, 2019, and adhere to the UN Security Council Resolutions on Jammu and Kashmir.

He reiterated Pakistan's unwavering commitment to supporting the Kashmiri people in their quest for self-determination.

Deputy Head of Mission Zulqurnain Ahmad welcomed the attendees and commended their support for the Kashmiri cause.

He reflected on the historical context of the Jammu & Kashmir dispute, emphasizing the sacrifices made by three generations of Kashmiris and expressing hope for their eventual freedom.

The event also featured a documentary on the current situation in IIOJK and concluded with special prayers for the martyrs and the freedom of Kashmir.
