Indian External Affairs Minister (EAM) Dr. S. Jaishankar is scheduled to visit Maldives next month.

This is Dr. S. Jaishankar’s first visit to Maldives after President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu took over the government in November last year.

WION News of India reported that Dr. S. Jaishankar will arrive in Maldives on August 9.

During his two to three day visit, he is expected to hold important talks with Foreign Minister Moosa Zameer and meet President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu.

Senior Maldivian government officials have already made three important visits to India in the past three months.

Minister Zameer visited India in May this year and President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu went to India in June to attend the swearing-in ceremony of Prime Minister Narendra Modi for his third term.

Maldives Minister of Tourism Ibrahim Faisal is currently in Delhi, India, promoting Maldivian tourism at the “Welcome India” Roadshow.
