Celebrating the 59th anniversary of the nation’s independence, he expressed his hopes for the enduring preservation of freedom.

The Maldives marks its Independence Day on July 26 every year, commemorating the day in 1965 when the country gained independence from British rule after 77 years as a British protectorate.
