MACL launches basic firefighter course for Batch 29 to enhance aviation safety

Maldives Airports Company Limited (MACL) has announced the commencement of the Basic Firefighter Course, Batch 29.

This introductory course is essential for aviation safety, providing firefighters with the necessary skills to handle emergencies effectively and efficiently.

Approved by the Maldives Civil Aviation Authority, the 43-day program trains a group of 12 firefighter trainees to respond to aircraft and structural fire emergencies at Velana International Airport (VIA) and its surrounding areas.

According to MACL, recently they also inaugurated a new fire station at VIA, equipped with state-of-the-art technologies to enhance emergency response capabilities.

With two strategically positioned fire stations now operational, MACL ensures swift and effective responses to any emergencies that may arise.

This initiative reflects MACL's commitment to maintaining high safety standards and improving emergency preparedness at Velana International Airport.
