President Dr Muizzu and Chinese ambassador reaffirm commitment to cooperation

H.E Wang Lixin, Ambassador of the People's Republic of China to the Republic of the Maldives, paid a courtesy call on President H.E Dr. Mohamed Muizzu this morning at the President's Office.

During their meeting,  President Dr. Muizzu and the Ambassador discussed the progress of issues raised during President Dr. Muizzu's State visit to China earlier this year and explored ways to expedite the implementation of the agreed initiatives.

Ambassador Wang Lixin assured President Dr. Muizzu of the Chinese Government's commitment to providing all possible assistance to address the urgent needs of the Maldives.

She emphasized the strong ties between the two nations and noted the special importance placed on the Maldives by Chinese President H.E Xi Jinping.

Additionally, the discussion included potential collaborations to promote tourism in the Maldives, highlighting the mutual benefits of such efforts.

Concluding the meeting, both President Dr. Muizzu and Ambassador Wang reaffirmed their dedication to further strengthening bilateral relations.

The Maldivian government's foreign policy focuses on advancing national development through cooperation with all countries.

Following the meeting, Ambassador Wang Lixin posted on social media platform X, stating,

We are ready to work closely with the Maldivian side to implement the important consensus reached by President Xi Jinping and President Dr. Muizzu to promote the social & economic development of Maldives and bring more benefits to the Maldivian people.
