Six new ambassadors present credentials to President Dr Muizzu
Six new ambassadors to the Maldives have formally presented their credentials to President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu.
The ceremony, marked by a cultural procession known as "Haiykolhu," featured the Maldives National Defence Force (MNDF) Drum and Trumpet band escorting each ambassador from Republic Square to the President's Office.
The ambassadors presenting their credentials included:
1. Leo Tito L. Ausan, Jr. – the new Ambassador of the Philippines
2. Dr. Victor Echeverri Jaramillo – the new Ambassador of Colombia
3. Alem Tsehaye Woldemariam – the new Ambassador of Eritrea
4. H.E. Bashu Dev Mishra – the new Ambassador of Nepal
5. Pelpolage Ranga Sujeewa Goonawardena – the new Ambassador of Sri Lanka
6. Damiano Francovigh – the new Ambassador of Italy
President Dr. Muizzu warmly congratulated each ambassador on their new roles and welcomed them to the Maldives.
Following the credential presentation, President Dr. Muizzu held individual ceremonies with the ambassadors, discussing opportunities to strengthen bilateral relations and explore areas of mutual interest.
