Sun Siyam Olhuveli Maldives will host popular Indian food creator Kabita Singh for a special culinary residency on October 20 to mark International Chefs Day.

Kabita Singh, the creator behind the widely followed Kabita’s Kitchen YouTube channel, has built a large audience by sharing accessible Indian recipes and everyday cooking ideas.

Her channel has more than 14.6 million subscribers on YouTube.

In 2024, she received the Best Creator in Food Category award at India’s National Creators Award.

The collaboration will bring Singh’s approach to Indian cooking together with the resort’s Plant Based Bliss philosophy, which highlights the nutritional and overall wellness benefits of plant-focused dining.

Sun Siyam Olhuveli General Manager Hassan Adil said the partnership would give guests an opportunity to experience Kabita’s cooking firsthand while exploring the flavors and stories behind her dishes.

The resort aims to create an interactive dining experience that brings guests together through food while showcasing plant-based cuisine in a relaxed island setting.

As part of the celebrations, Kabita will work alongside the resort’s culinary team to conduct a live cooking session featuring a selection of vegetarian, vegan and health-focused dishes.

The menu will be developed in collaboration with the resort’s chefs, combining Kabita’s personal cooking style with the team’s culinary expertise.

Guests will have the opportunity to watch her prepare the dishes, learn about the techniques and inspiration behind each creation, and sample her take on plant-forward Indian cuisine.

The event reflects the resort’s focus on creating engaging food experiences that combine culinary creativity, wellness and social interaction in the Maldives.

Through the collaboration, Sun Siyam Olhuveli aims to offer guests a distinctive way to celebrate International Chefs Day while exploring new approaches to Indian cuisine and plant-based dining.
