Police probe social media harassment of a minor

Police are investigating allegations that a schoolgirl was subjected to sustained online bullying by other students at a school on an island under the Central Police jurisdiction.

Police confirmed today that an investigation was underway into the alleged cyberbullying of a minor by fellow students but did not disclose further details about the case.

The allegations involve a TikTok account reportedly used to target the girl over an extended period.

The account shared her photograph in repeated posts mocking her physical appearance, with some posts also containing obscene language directed at her.

The case has recently drawn widespread attention on social media, prompting public concern over the alleged harassment of the student.

The TikTok account used to target the girl has since been deactivated.
