Maldives Defence Minister Hassan Rasheed has stated that instead of lying under the influence of any power, we must work to stand on our own feet, and that is the greatest lesson to be learned from the November 3rd incident.

The Minister made these remarks while speaking at the official ceremony held last night to mark the 38th Victory Day.

The Minister stated that one of the greatest lessons from the November 3rd incident is the need to prioritize national interest.

He added that this can only be achieved by building a nation that stands on its own feet.

"Instead of lying under the belly of any power, we must work to stand upright on our own feet.

the Minister said, recalling the lessons of Victory Day.

Furthermore, the Minister stated that President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu's defence policy is to protect and maintain the independence and sovereignty of the Maldives independently by Maldivians, without relying on any foreign parties.

He noted that a great deal of work has been done so far to enhance the capability of the Maldivian military to ensure this.
