Ms Sujatha Haleem has been appointed as the Chief Executive Officer of the Pension Office by the provisions of the Maldives Pension Act.

Prior to being named CEO on Monday, Sujatha had over two years of experience as Acting CEO. Additionally, she had been COO since 2015.

Sujatha Haleem has served for 16 years at the forefront of efforts to introduce a sustainable and modern pension system in the Maldives. In this regard, she played a key role in the implementation of the World Bank's Pension and Social Protection Administration Project in the Maldives, and the formulation and implementation of the Maldives Pension Act. 

Sujatha replaces the former CEO John Grindal as the new CEO after he was dismissed for misconduct last year.
