MNACI's first builder awards for 6 people
The first ever Builder Awards of the Maldives National Association of Construction Industry, MNACI, have been presented to six individuals.
This is the first time MNACI has presented the award.
The Maldives National Association of Construction Industry, MNACI, was established in 2001. They have been trying to give this award since its inception.
A total of 6 awards were presented at the awards ceremony. The most notable of these is the Lifetime Achievement Award. The award was presented to two individuals who have made valuable contributions to the construction industry.
They are Amin Group of Companies Chairman Abdullah Mohamed and Hotels and Resorts Investment Maldives Chairman as well as President of MNACI Mohammed Ali Janah.
Other awards presented at the awards ceremony were:
1. Contractor of the Year - Alia Construction and Amin Construction
2. Cement Supplier of the Year – Villa Hakatha
3. Project Delivery Award of the Year – Bison Maldives
Speaking at the ceremony, MNACI President Mohammed Ali Janah said, This is a very happy night in the history of MNACI. After the existence of the MNACI, the award was tried, but this became a reality this year, he said.
Noting that Maldives has very good people in the construction industry, Janah said the country's infrastructure is in the hands of the people. Tourism has also produced the best products in the world, he said.
He also said that marketing is not the only reason for the increase in the number of tourists coming to Maldives, but also the construction industry has also played a major role in the increase in the number of tourists coming to Maldives.
"In the 70s and 80s we started building resorts and today we have shown the world that these are the most talented resort builders in the world. Maldives is not only the world's number one tourism industry but it is world's best product producer for the tourism industry. The product is produced because of the hard work of the talented people.” MNACI said.
The ceremony was graced by the President of the Republic of Maldives, Dr.Mohammed Muizzu. President Dr. Muizzu was awarded the title of "Great King" in recognition of his contribution to the country's construction sector.
