There is no restrictions on import of any basic goods to Maldives: Saeed
There is no obstacle to importing any basic goods into Maldives, Economic Minister Mohamed Saeed said.
Minister Saeed said this in a tweet.
Saeed said there was no obstacle to importing any basic goods. He said Maldives will always be given priority by its allies.
In addition, changes in the world food market or export policies of individual countries are periodic, said minister in his tweet.
He said that President Dr. Muizzu has been looking at establishing food security of the people since his campaign days. And it will be achieved with a sustainable environmental solution.
Minister Saeed's tweet comes at a time when neighboring India has banned the export of onions.
Some Indian newspapers have reported that the move is aimed at decreasing the rising inflation rate of the country that coincides with the Lok Sabha elections.
