The Maldives National Party (MNP) President and former Defense Minister Mohamed Nazim has said that he will remain steadfast with the government of  president Dr.Mohammed Muizzu.

In a tweet on Today X, Nazim said, he assures the people of Maldives that all MNP members and he will remain steadfast with the government of Dr. Mohammed Muizzu who was elected as the President of the country with the full support of Maldivians.

Nazim also urged the people to continue to support the development work being carried out by President Dr. Mohammed Muizzu for the development of the country and the welfare of the people.

Nazim’s comments come as former President Yameen Abdul Gayoom decided to leave the people's progressive party (PPM) to form his own party.

Many in the PPM leadership are opposed to Yameen forming a new party. Many people are expressing their support for president  Dr. Muizzu.
