Defense Minister of India, Rajnath Singh, recently interacted with the Indian community in Maldives and praised the good work carried out by the government led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

According to a tweet posted on May 2 by the official account of the Indian Ministry of Defense, Minister Singh highlighted the impact of the Modi government's policies and initiatives in India and the world.

The tweet suggests that Minister Singh used the opportunity to showcase the achievements of the Modi government, which has been in power since 2014 and was re-elected with a strong mandate in 2019.

Maldives has close ties with its neighbor India. India has provided development assistance, humanitarian aid, and military training to Maldives, as well as supported its democratic transition and stability. India has also sought to counter China's growing influence in Maldives. 

Minister Singh's visit to Maldives comes amid rising concerns about regional security and stability, including the threat of terrorism and extremism, piracy, and maritime disputes. India has been working with Maldives to address these challenges and promote peace and prosperity.

The tweet by the Indian Ministry of Defense received negative reactions from some of the audience. It is seen that offensive inappropriate comments were made by users. 

The tweet suggests that Minister Singh's interaction with the Indian community in Maldives was well-received and may have helped strengthen the bonds between the two countries and their peoples.
