Maldives has acknowledged the continuous effort made by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to find a comprehensive political approach to end the crisis in Yemen, in the statement released by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

The statement highlighted the recognition for the meetings held by the Saudi team, led by his excellency Mohammed Bin Saeed Al-Jaber, its ambassador to Yemen, from 8 to 13th of April - Maldives congratulated Saudi regarding this.

According to the statement, these meetings started based on the positive changes in Yemen after the announcement made in March 2021 regarding the Saudi initiative for aid in Yemen and the announcement made by the United Nations that the strikes in Yemen had stopped.

The statement from Maldives has called upon the Yemeni government and the Houthis to cooperate to help the citizens of Yemen to make their dream of a developed, united, and peaceful country, a reality.
