Hulhumalé Guesthouses briefed on tourism regulations and visitor guidance
Authorities have conducted an awareness programme for guesthouse operators in Hulhumalé to reinforce tourism regulations and improve visitor guidance.
Held on 29 December in collaboration with the Tourist Police and Neighborhood Police, the session focused on helping guesthouses better communicate rules and safety reminders to their guests.
Officials highlighted the need to inform tourists that bikinis are not allowed on public beaches in Hulhumalé, noting a rise in incidents involving inappropriate attire.
Guesthouses were also encouraged to remind visitors to safeguard their belongings while at the beach.
The programme additionally addressed booking management during the peak tourist season, urging operators to provide clear instructions to avoid reservation disputes.
Participants were further advised to ensure timely payment processing to reduce the risk of fraud.
