The Chinese Embassy in the Maldives on 9th January (Monday) has donated a state-of-the-art Polymerase Chain Reaction (PCR) machine and test equipment to Tree Top Hospital.

The medical equipment was handed over by the Chinese ambassador Wang Lixin to Tree Top Hospital's Managing Director Ahmed Nazeer in a ceremony held at the hospital.

Speaking at the ceremony, Chinese ambassador Wang Lixin said that she hoped these PCR machines would benefit the hospital and its patients. She further explained that the embassy would keep assisting hospitals in the future and highlighted the close ties between both countries.

Meanwhile, Nazeer thanked China for its generous assistance and expressed his hope of working with China to develop the hospital. Nazeer also presented a plaque of appreciation to the Chinese ambassador Wang.

After the handover ceremony, ambassador Wang had a tour of the hospital and looked at some of the services being offered at the Tree Top Hospital.
