Maldives Police Services has recovered a body of a deceased human being. 

According to local authorities, the deceased body was said to have been seen Monday morning at about 09:03 am.

Police noted that the body was found in Vaavu Atoll's northwest Vemparu Lagoon.

Local authorities have now recovered the body from the sea and working to transport the body.

Police have stated that they currently investigating the case and more details would be shared at a later date.
