Dialysis services launched in HA. Ihavandhoo, expanding healthcare access
Dialysis services have officially commenced at Amina Dhiyo Health Centre in HA. Ihavandhoo, marking a significant step toward improving healthcare access in the region.
The service was inaugurated by First Lady Madam Sajida Mohamed during a special ceremony held at Ihavandhoo School this evening.
Speaking at the event, the First Lady underscored the importance of enhancing medical services in rural areas and reaffirmed the government's commitment to expanding dialysis facilities nationwide.
She highlighted President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu’s ongoing efforts to strengthen healthcare infrastructure to ensure essential treatments are more accessible to those in need.
Following the inauguration, Madam Sajida visited the dialysis unit to assess the setup and readiness of the facility.
Among the six patients on the island requiring dialysis, one began treatment at the centre today.
The facility is fully equipped, with trained nurses and physicians on hand to provide comprehensive care.
