The Parliament has unanimously approved Abdulla Nashid as Vice President of the Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC), following a request from President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu.

President Muizzu initially nominated Ahmed Nashid for the position in a letter submitted to Parliament on January 26.

However, in a revised request on February 11, he proposed Abdulla Nashid instead. Lawmakers voted in favor of the nomination on Monday, with 69 members granting their approval.

The five-member ACC now comprises:

- Adam Shamil (President)

- Shiyama Mohamed

- Shazna Hashim

- Abdulla Nashid

- Ahmed Nashid

Abdulla Nashid and Ahmed Nashid were both appointed to the commission on January 26, having received parliamentary approval on January 20.

Their appointments followed the resignation of former Vice President Abdul Salam and member Thoha Mohamed in November, who stepped down ahead of no-confidence votes.

On the day of their resignation, Parliament passed amendments to the Anti-Corruption Commission Act, granting the President the authority to appoint the commission’s President and Vice President—roles that were previously decided through an internal vote among members.

Abdulla Nashid who was approved today, holds a Master’s degree in Education (School Management) from India’s Regional Institute of Education and has served as a manager in various departments of Aasandha Company.
