President Dr. Muizzu announces removal of 228 Political appointees
In a significant move under the Economic Reform Agenda, President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu announced the removal of 228 political appointees from various government ministries.
This directive, aimed at reducing government expenditure, will be implemented within the next 15 days and includes 7 State Ministers, 43 Deputy Ministers, 109 Senior Political Directors, and 69 Political Directors.
He made the announcement in a post made on social media platform ‘X’ today.
This decision is part of our efforts to streamline government spending and ensure fiscal responsibility
President added
The initiative is expected to save the government approximately Rf 5.714 million per month.
