Maldives Immigration have deported two Vietnamese women following their arrest in a joint operation by Immigration and the police targeting businesses suspected of prostitution.

The individuals, identified as 40-year-old Thi Mong Thu Nguyen and 41-year-old Hoang Thi Thanh.

They were found to be residing in the Maldives under different visa categories, one on a work visa and the other on a tourist visa.

Immigration officials confirmed their deportation.

This incident follows a similar crackdown late last year, where seven foreign women and two men accused of working as agents were arrested and deported for engaging in prostitution.
