Maldivian education technology company Syllabi has launched an online gaming platform featuring 97 educational games designed to help students from Preschool to Grade 12 revise lessons based on the national curriculum.

Named Syllabi Games, the platform became available on 26 October through syllabi.mv/games, offering interactive activities across subjects including Dhivehi, English, Mathematics, Science, Islam, Quran, Social Studies, Business and Economics.

The games are designed around the Maldivian school syllabus, with students selecting their grade and subjects to receive questions suited to their level.

The company says the platform combines gameplay with revision, allowing students to practise their lessons while completing in-game challenges.

Several games incorporate familiar aspects of Maldivian life, culture and history.

Resort Boss challenges players to develop resorts on islands in Baa and Vaavu atolls, while Bodu Fihaara and Fish Market introduce activities involving shopkeeping, weighing fish, pricing goods and giving change.

Other games include Rescue Dispatch, which simulates coordinating emergency services, and Ferry Link, which involves planning ferry schedules.

The platform also features games based on Maldivian history, including Uthuru Uthuru, which follows the Thakurufaanu brothers, and 3 November 1988, which focuses on events surrounding the attempted coup that year.

For Dhivehi learners, the collection includes a crossword using clues from the Dhivehi Radheef, a word search and a Thaana letters game.

Younger children can also access activities such as Tangram Island, Coconut Catch, ABC English and Arabic Letters.

In addition to the educational games, Syllabi Games offers daily puzzles, including crosswords, mini crosswords, Sudoku, Word Guess and Four Groups, providing activities for older students and teachers.

The company said questions are linked to specific textbook pages, with each question displaying its subject, grade and corresponding page reference.

Students who answer incorrectly can consult the relevant textbook page to review the material. The platform also introduces questions from the previous grade periodically to reinforce earlier learning.

Syllabi Games includes weekly, monthly and all-time leaderboards for individual games, alongside 58 badges awarded for achievements such as maintaining daily streaks, answering accurately and performing well in particular subjects.

Premium subscribers also gain access to school, national and friends leaderboards.

A parental dashboard available through the Premium plan allows parents to monitor their children's performance by subject and the time spent playing.

Parents can also lock or unlock their child's account. The platform allows parents to play the games themselves, although their scores are excluded from student leaderboards.

According to Syllabi, the platform contains no advertisements or player-to-player chat functions.

New accounts receive a three-day free Premium trial, after which free games remain accessible and saved progress is retained.

Premium subscriptions cost MVR 199 for one month, MVR 399 for three months and MVR 594 for six months. Payments are made through FahiPay or bank transfer, with subscriptions not automatically renewed.

Parents purchasing Premium access for their children receive a redemption code by email, which can be entered through the platform's redemption page.

Syllabi founder Jumail said the platform was developed to make children's gaming time more productive by incorporating revision into the experience.

Children already spend a lot of time on games. We wanted that time to count. Every game in Syllabi Games asks questions from the child's own syllabus, so playing and revising turn into the same thing,

The platform can be accessed through a web browser on mobile phones, tablets and computers, while Android and iOS applications are planned for a future release.

Users can submit feedback through the platform or contact the company through its website and Telegram community.
