Maldivian has officially opened an office in Beijing, expanding its presence in China and strengthening ties with partners and customers in the country.
Announcing the opening on social media platform 'X', the airline described it as a milestone in its efforts to build stronger partnerships, enhance connectivity and connect more travellers between China and the Maldives.
The airline said the new office would bring it closer to its partners and customers in the Chinese market.
The opening comes as China remains the Maldives’ largest source market for tourists.
According to tourist arrival figures as of 25 October 2026, the Maldives welcomed 327,531 Chinese tourists this year, accounting for 19 per cent of total arrivals.
China also held the top position in the corresponding 2025 rankings.
