President stated

This announcement follows the revelation that an experienced team is actively pursuing diplomatic actions to reclaim lost areas in the sea.

The President's commitment to reinforcing security measures in the EEZ aligns with the broader strategy to protect and assert Maldives' maritime sovereignty.

The urgency of this move was emphasized by recent incidents, notably the illegal boarding of a Maldivian fishing vessel within the Maldivian Exclusive Economic Zone by Indian troops.

Reports suggest that multiple fishing vessels faced similar incursions, highlighting the need for enhanced surveillance and security measures in the region.

The President's announcement underscores the administration's dedication to addressing such challenges and ensuring the protection of Maldives' maritime interests.

As the nation gears up to develop advanced surveillance measures, it signals a proactive stance in maintaining control over its Exclusive Economic Zones.
