The newly appointed Non-Resident Ambassador of France to the Maldives, Rémi Lambert, formally presented his Letter of Credence to President Dr Mohamed Muizzu during a ceremony held at the President’s Office.

The ambassador was escorted to the ceremony in a traditional Haiykolhu cultural procession accompanied by the Maldives National Defence Force Drum and Trumpet Band, in keeping with diplomatic protocol.

President Dr Muizzu accepted the credentials and officially welcomed Ambassador Lambert, marking the commencement of his diplomatic mission to the Maldives.

Following the ceremony, the President and the ambassador held discussions on a range of issues of mutual interest, including tourism, maritime cooperation, marine conservation, climate change, and regional security.

The talks also focused on opportunities to deepen bilateral collaboration and strengthen existing ties between the Maldives and France.
