Steady flow of fuel and gas shipments to sustain national supply: Ministers

The government has assured the public that there are no current shortages of fuel or gas, with shipments already scheduled to ensure a stable supply in the months ahead.

Speaking at a media briefing, Economic Minister Mohamed Saeed and Finance Minister Moosa Zameer said proactive measures have been taken to secure fuel and essential commodities.

Both ministers, who are part of a committee overseeing wartime economic matters, emphasized that supply chains remain stable and uninterrupted.

Finance Minister Moosa Zameer said fuel prices are being closely monitored amid global fluctuations, noting that there are no immediate indications of major price changes.

As I mentioned earlier, we are also tapping into financing available through multilateral agencies. At this point, I can confirm that fuel and essential food commodities will continue to be procured according to our current schedule without any disruptions.

Meanwhile, Economic Minister Mohamed Saeed detailed the schedule of incoming shipments, highlighting the government’s forward planning to maintain supply continuity.

For diesel, we have shipments scheduled on April 12, 18, and 24, as well as May 7 and May 15. For petrol, shipments are scheduled on April 18 and 27, May 15, June 2, and June 21. For LPG, shipments are scheduled around April 22 and 23

Minister Saeed added that these arrangements reflect proactive steps taken in advance, with their positive effects already being seen in the economy.
